April 21st. Colorful foliage at last.

One Great Blue Heron (Ardea herodius) at the marsh.

Male Wood Duck (Aix sponsa).

Male Hooded Merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus)...

...and a female.

Just one worker at Old Colchester Road when I stopped by at around 8:15.

He was moving a barrier to the side, presumably to allow work vehicvles in and out at some point.

Then he took the big digger out of the way.

Next some work with the little digger.

Next a brief stop at Norton's Pond off River Road. Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) perched high, above a Canada Goose (Branta canadensis) below.

Mid afternoon at Cranberry Bog. Mamma Goose on the nest, as usual.

Note the downy cushion leaking out by her side.

Red or Purple Trillium (Trillium erectum) a hundred yards east of Clark Street.

A common Violet (Viola sp.).

Back at Norton's Pond, the Osprey (Pandion haliaetus) was pretty close to it's morning perch.

Back to Old Colchester Road to see what progress was made today. Only thing I saw was a couple of piles of heavy steel forms.

April 22nd. Mid-afternoon, after rain last night and light rain this morning.. No Great Blue Herons on either nest at the pond east of Route 207. No other waterfowl there or on my other usual spots today.

Viola sp.

No changes at the bridge project; no work done today.

April 23rd. Eastern Tent Caterpillars (Malacosoma americanum) in and near their typical silk nest.

April 24th. Male Hooded Merganser (Lophodytes cucullatus) with his crest down.

Still no obvious progress here. A couple of workers tidying up edges...

...though I don't recall seeing this device before. Looks like coiled water pipe beside it.

At Norton's Pond, a Bald Eagle (Haliaeetus leucocephalus) perched where I've seen an Osprey frequently.

Surface ripples reflecting trees near the exit dam by River Road.

Cropped closer.

Cropped even more.
