October 23rd. A couple of male Red-winged Blackbirds (Odocoileus phoeniceus) around again.

Ah, there's his epaulette.

Last prep tasks before being ready for concrete. Hopefully today.

I was told this would be last day pouring cement. I suppose some of these leftovers will be removed one of these days.

Back at Old Colchester Road by 1:00 when the cement truck was due to arrive. Once again, not there until 1:30.

They used the funnel-bucket for more precise delivery of smaller quantities.

The hoop at the right controls the flow and fine tuning of position. Press down for delivery.

Vibrator in the cement assures that there are no voids.

Final touches.

Back to the cement mixer for a fill-up.

Moving to work on the far corner.

Another fill-up.

Another slanted fill at the far right corner.

Full flow.

More vibrating.

Enough for me. I think we all have the picture. Stay tuned to next week when they close the trail crossing, dig up the road, and install storm drains. Supposed to take only a couple of days.
