September 27th. A mid-morning walk between showers and wind gusts. A tree down just west of the mural.
I was able to climb over it.
The wooded sections of the trail were littered with leaves and branches.
The marsh section was better.
The young Sassfras (Sassafras albidum) leaves have brightened more since the photo I took on September 21st.
Another tree - this a dead one - down near the marsh's exit stream.
Looks like the bridge crew well protected their work through the storm with weights on the tarps.
What I'm calling a wing wall, is ready for a pour - though perhaps not until other corner wings are prepared similarly.
A bit of Fall color by the second beaver pond.
Hickory Tussock Moth (Lophocampa caryae) on a storm-downed leaf.
As I was finishing up, I met Joe, the Stick Flicker, as he headed west from Route 85. I let him know that I'd already Flicked down to Old Colchester Road so he, his wife, and their dog were able to head back east.
