June 29th. Typical views of a Wood Duck (Aix sponsa) female and young - heading for shelter.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Common Mullein (Verbascum thapsus).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

None-so-pretty or Sweet-William Catchfly (Silene armeria), an "escaped" ornamental.

 

 

June 30th. Bee-balm (Monarda didyma) planted at the Route 85 trailhead.

 

 

July 1st. A geometrid "inchworm" moth, possibly Scopula sp.

 

 

July 2nd. Humid misty morning caught dew on spider webs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

July 3rd. Pickerelweed (Pontederia cordata).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Morrow's Honeysuckle (Lonicera morrowii). The berries are paired, just like the flowers.

 

 

Highbush Blueberries (Vaccinium corymbosum) will be ripe soon.

 

 

Common Milkweed (Asclepias syriaca).

 

 

 

 

 

Male Widow Skimmer dragonfly (Libellula luctuosa).

 

 

Smooth Sumac (Rhus glabra).
