The colors
developed slowly and, for the most part, subtly. None of the vibrant
yellow maples of our New England town greens. Still there was color
to be found, though more often up close than at a distance.
            I'll
skip the narration for a change. You'll all recognize maples and oaks,
and rose hips. There's a shot of alder, several of Fragmites.

             I end
with the pale, skeletonized leaves of an oak - somehow fitting for
              the
              end of the growing season.
