STEP: May 2-4, 2007 Meeting - Hosted by the Bank of Montreal

Agenda

For detailed Agenda, click here.

Assuming you arrive on Wednesday, May 2nd, dinner will be available in the dining hall from 6:00-8:00 P.M. Look for other STEP folks there starting at around 7:00, or, if you arrive late, you may find some of us in the lounge adjacent to the front desk. Your two-night room cost includes all meals, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks in the lounge (alcoholic beverages are available at reasonable cost), access to their superb fitness facility with large lap pool, hot tub, gym, fitness machines, etc. Because our per-night rate includes a prorated amount for Thursday's interactive dinner, please check with Ian MacNeil (416-490-4345) for an alternate rate if you're only staying one night or staying elsewhere.

On Thursday, May 3rd, will begin our "formal" meeting at 8:00 a.m., adjourning for the day at around 5:30 p.m. Jay Cross will be our guest on Thursday, welcoming us to the world of Informal Learning via interactions spotted throughout the day. Thursday night's "interactive dinner" is a special treat arranged by Malcolm Roberts and the IFL's chefs.

On Friday, May 4th, we'll meet from 8:00 until noon. Those who don't have to rush off to the airport are welcome to stay for lunch.

Send agenda input to Stan. Consider topics you're willing to prersent, questions you'd like the group to discuss, and items you plan to cover in roundtable discussion. I need:

Meeting Location:
Bank of Montreal - Institute for Learning
3550 Pharmacy Avenue
Scarborough, Ontario, M1W 3Z3, Canada

We'll be meeting at the Bank of Montreal's Institute for Learning (IFL) in the Toronto suburbs. It's your call whether you rent a car and drive or take a taxi/limo. Once at the IFL, you won't need a car so in the long run, a taxi is definitely cheaper and less hassle. Ian MacNeil says, I just use the Limo stand at the airport (taxi and limo flat rate fares are generally equal at the airport), however if pre-booking we sometimes use Cullitons: www.cullitons.com

Fly into Toronto's Pearson International Airport. (Yes, I know it's the Bank of Montreal, but we're meeting in Toronto.) If coming from the US, don't forget your passport and picture ID.

Driving from the airport to the Institute for Learning:

  1. Follow exit signs out of airport.
  2. Take Highway 401 EAST.
  3. Take Highway 404 NORTH.
  4. Take Steeles Avenue East Exit.
  5. Turn right onto Steeles Avenue.
  6. Turn right at second major intersection onto Pharmacy Avenue.
  7. Turn right into the IFL property (first driveway on right after you turn onto Pharmacy Ave.)
  8. Park in back of the building where you'll see the lobby entrance. Check in at the desk.
