YahooGroups is the free service STEP uses to host
our listserv. The listserv allows any STEP member to direct an e-mail
to a single address, STEP@yahoogroups.com, and have it reach every
STEP member. Likewise, any reply to a STEP YahooGroups e-mail will
be directed to every STEP member. (Please use this sensitively,
and responsibly: before you send a message, ask yourself if it is
of value to the entire group, or just of interest to the person
who originated the e-mail. If the latter, initiate a new e-mail
directly to that person, not to the list.) Note that only subscribers
to the STEP YahooGroup can send mail to this address. It cannot
be used by non-members. However, you can "cc" non-members
if appropriate.
Additionally, at the STEP YahooGroups web site (not
to be confused with the STEP web site where you are now!), you can
view an archive of STEP e-mail messages, store and retrieve shared
files, change account settings, select individual e-mail or "daily
digest" mail delivery options, etc.
To join the STEP YahooGroup, go
to http://groups.yahoo.com/group/STEP/
and follow the directions there.
- Be sure your YahooGroups profile is set up to
send group messages to your work e-mail address (or home if you
prefer).
- Be careful to save your YahooGroups ID and password
in a place where you'll be able to find them later!
- Bookmark the STEP YahooGroups page so you can
use it later to view archived messages and shared files.
Once you subscribe to the STEP YahooGroup, I'll
be notified. I'll approve your subscription and you'll be activated.
Then you can begin sending messages to STEP@yahoogroups.com and
all STEP members will receive them. (Please add this address to
your address book.)
