EXPERIENCE
|
1995-Present:
Consultant to large-corporation clients on learning and performance
issues - including, but not limited to, overall strategy, initiative
design, vendor selection, RFP process design, departmental and initiative-level
metrics, development planning processes, and opportunity assessments
for technology-based learning and electronic performance support. Clients
include: Solectron, Lockheed Martin, HJ Heinz, MetLife, Bank of Montreal,
Amoco, WW Grainger, Western Union, Cox Communications, and Kellogg. 1995-Present:
Leader of the STEP Consortium, a group of HR, OD, and Training executives
and senior practitioners who share non-proprietary best-practices and
jointly sponsor research studies. Consortium members include: Agilent
Technologies, American Express, Bank of Montreal, Best Buy, Capital
One, Daimler-Chrysler, Freddie Mac, HJ Heinz, Kellogg, WW Grainger,
Hewlett Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Lockheed Martin, MasterCard, Sempra
Energy, Solectron, USAA, Western Union, Xerox, and XO Communications.
About STEP (www.performance-vision.com/ab-step.htm) 1998-2001: Administrator of the Performance-Centered Design Competition, an awards program recognizing the best in electronic performance support systems and performance-centered software. 1984-1995:
Eleven years as head of Learning Technologies and Performance Support
at Aetna, with corporate-wide responsibility and a staff of 20+. I fostered
an atmosphere of performance-focused creativity and innovation which
won the unit an international reputation. 1991: Key participant in process to reengineer corporate learning at Aetna, helping to design and implement an organization of 150+.

PROFESSIONAL
ACTIVITIES
|
I have been a speaker at ISPI, ADCIS, the CBT Conference, the EPSS and OnLine Learning Conferences, AT&T's Training Managers' Conference; conferences sponsored by the International Quality and Productivity Center (IQPC), Institute for International Research (IIR), and International Communications for Management (ICM); and graduate programs in instructional design at Penn State, Syracuse, Columbia, and the University of Connecticut. I've taught a graduate course in "Technology-based Learning in the Workplace" for Columbia University. For over thirteen years, I have been an advisor to Bloomsburg University's graduate program in interactive instructional technologies. I have published articles in Training magazine, ISPI's Performance Improvement, Human Resources Executive, and CBT Directions; and have received major coverage for my work in Human Resource Executive, The Learning Enterprise, Technology for Learning, Training, Personnel Journal, Inside Technology Training, and Enterprise.
