September - October 2005

September 10th (or there abouts). Hazel has her hair done, including her first ponytail.

Elizabeth says, "On Saturday we went to nearby Rudyard Lake (Kipling was named after this, apparently!) and rode the miniature steam train that runs through the woods and along the lake. Hazel was a bit scared by the whistle and and the motion of the train as it set off, but was OK once we got going. She was full of a cold so we didn't get up to too much the rest of the weekend."

September 17th. Elizabeth says, "We met up with my friend Kathryn, her husband Chris and their daughter Laura yesterday for the monthly organic farm market in Wincle."

"Afterwards we went to Blaze Farm to see the animals and have some lunch. We bought a few bags of corn for the chickens this time. Hazel was feeling shy but enjoyed an entire chocolate ice cream cone to herself."

September 18th. "I like the one of Hazel smiling. What a cheeky face she has."

"Not sure what we were laughing about now, just generally being silly."

On September 24th, Grandma Eileen entertains Hazel and cousins Matthew and Joseph while...

...David and Elizabeth visit Manchester's Chinatown and the Yang Sing restaurant.

Elizabeth says, "David needs more practice with chopsticks but he's starting to get the hang of it."

"When we got home we all went to the park and had fun on the equipment."
