6th Generation

Children of Nathaniel and Katherine (Richardson) Rideout:

Benjamin A. Rideout - b. Jul 10, 1815; m. Eleanor M. Perley, Feb 11, 1849; d. _____. Benjamin and Eleanor had two children: Mary E. Rideout (b. Dec 15, 1849); and Charles J. Rideout (b. Aug 25, 1854). I believe that Mary lived in Littlefield's Corner, a part of Auburn, Maine.

Perez B. Rideout - b. Nov 25, 1816; m. Mary J. Staples, Jun 3, ____; d. Sep 29, 1848. Perez and Mary had only one child that I'm aware of, Perez B. Rideout (b. Jul 4, 1848; m. Lizzie M. Adams; d. _____).

Catherine Rideout - b. Oct 30, 1817; d. Jan 2, 1819.

Children of Nathaniel and Ruth (Lufkin) Rideout:

Catherine Rideout - b. Jan 17, 1820; d. May 25, 1821.

Nicholas Rideout - b. Feb 24, 1822; m. Charlotte Woodman, Sep 24, 1848; d. Mar 9, 1885. Nicholas and Charlotte had two children: John W. Rideout (b. Dec 1, 1855) and Nicholas Blanchard Rideout (b. Nov 9, 1866).

John W. ran a store in Intervale (a part of New Gloucester), Maine. He and his wife, Lizzie, had a daughter, Ruth (Rideout) Wills (b. Jul 16, 1898).

Nicholas Blanchard lived in Everett, Massachusetts. He had five children: Gordon Titus Rideout (b. Jan 13, 1905); Blanchard Livingston Rideout (b. Apr 28, 1906); John Greeley Rideout (b. Aug 1, 1907; d. May 6, 1954); Daniel Woodman Rideout (b. Sep 10, 1909); and George Mellon Rideout (b. Nov 3, 1911).

Mary A. Rideout - b. Mar 24, 1824; m. Dr. Henry T. Cummings; d. Feb 26, ____ in Tacoma, Washington.

Nathaniel Rideout - b. Oct 14, 1826; m. Rachel P. Rogers, Jun 5, 1855; d. _____. Nathaniel and Rachel had four children: Annie P. Rideout (b. Feb 17, 1858; d. Mar 22, 1877); Flora R. Rideout (b. Sarah J. Rideout - b. May 24, 1829; m. Wallace J. Atkins, May 3, 1865; d. Feb 26, 1918. They lived at 19 Gothic Street (later renumbered 41 Gothic Street), South Paris, Maine, and had no children. Wallace served in the Civil War and died Nov 2, 1902. (I have the pocket testament he carried through the war.)

Harriet Rideout - b. Jul 24, 1831; m. Ezekiel Haskell, Apr 5, 1855; d. May 24, ____. I believe they lived in South Paris, Maine, in a large home next door to the Congregational Church, and had three children: Edwin N. Haskell (b. Jul 25, 1862; d. 1947), Harriet Lufkin Haskell (b. Dec 23, 1864; m. Omar B. Merrow Mar 8 or 9, 1909, and lived near Auburn, Maine), and Emma W. Haskell (b. Apr 18, 1860, d. Jul 2, 1958). It was certainly in this house, then occupied by Edwin N. Haskell, that his aunt Bertha died in 1898. Harriet Merrow lived in Littlefield's Corner, a part of Auburn, Maine - near her cousin Mary E. Rideout. Ezekiel Haskell was born Jul 3, 1831 and died Jul 5, 1871.
