Edward L. Greene

Oil Paintings

Miniatures

My grandfather, Edward Leon Greene, worked in the paint shop of the Paris Manufacturing Company for most of his adult life. He was an "embellisher", decorating the company's sleds, skis, furniture, and children's toys - often with very elaborate designs. On his lunch hour, he amused himself by creating these miniature oil paintings which were pinned up above his workbench. After Ed's death in 1958, a co-worker found the paintings and returned them to my grandmother.
