October 9th.  Overcast morning yielded saturated fall leaf colors.

October 10th.  Still good color despite yesterday's rain.  Note that duck and goose hunting seasons have begun, as evidenced by hunter pickups in the trail parking lots and shots fired from the marsh.  (The shots I heard were from the south side of the trail, in the marsh, which last I knew was private land that reqiuired signed permission from the landowner.  Waterfowl hunting is only permitted from State land on the north side of the trail.)  Details of hunting seasons here: http://www.performance-vision.com/airline/index-WhatsNew.htm#hunting

October 11th.  Out early, hoping for a sunrise.  No drama, but nice.  37 degrees.

Walking out after this last shot, I saw my first light frost of the season.
